About Us...

Hi, my name is Erica.  I live in Western NY, between Buffalo and Rochester.  I am a licensed nurse and work part time at a county nursing home.  I have been married for 17 years, and have 3 wonderful children, ages 17, 15 and 5.  I got my first cocker spaniel when I was 18 years old. I got hooked on the breed, and a couple of years later I started taking in rescues.  Several years after that,  I became involved in showing and breeding.

A merry disposition and good health are my foremost priorities in my breeding program.  Ofcoarse I want to breed cockers that are correct in accodance with the breed standard, but a pretty cocker isn't enjoyable if it has a bad temperament or is unhealthy.  I have been a cocker owner for almost 20 years, and a breeder for a full 10 years. I have endured the heart ache of having purchased dogs with severe temperament problems, crippling, blinding and even fatal health problems.  I am educated, my eyes are wide open, I am dedicated to temperament and health, and I am compassionate toward the puppies & their owners.  I have been committed to having my dogs annually eye CERF examined since 1999, as other various health testing and we NEVER breed a dog that has a health problem or less than a fantastic temperament.  I am truely blessed to have cockers with such wonderful temperaments. If you come to my house, be prepared to receive many cocker kisses, especially from my males...they are exceptionally lovable!

As important as having a healthy and happy group of dogs is the manner in which we raise their puppies.  Our puppies are born and raised in our dining room.  I am constantly observing the puppies and evaluating their temperaments, how they interact with each other, and handling the puppies dozens of time every day.  By raising puppies in the central area of our home, they are socialized to kids, the vacuum,  pots and pans clanging,  music, and all diferent sights and sounds.  When my puppies leave me, they are very outgoing and full of confidence.  I really feel my puppies have a huge advantage over puppies from other breeders that are raised in a kennel or in a secluded bedroom that most breeders give a fancy label to as a "puppy room".  Bottom line is it is a bed room, away from the happenings and humans of the household.

I am AKC inspected & use only the AKC  registry.  I have a NY State Dept of Ag Purebred License...this is a license for the HOBBY breeders whom sell LESS than 25 puppies per year, not to be confused with the Pet Dealers license which is for commerical breeders.  I have only 7 dogs, which consist of 1 boxer, 3 male cocker spaniels & 3 female cocker spaniels.  My other female cocker "Lola" lives with her co-owner in Canada. I am really just an owner on paper.  Staying "small" enables me to care for my dogs to the highest of standards and provide each of them with plenty of one on one time.

We also have an addition built onto  the back  of our house for our kennel. Walk out the back door and your inside of it. When we built our kennel, our goal was to provide a very home-like atmosphere for our dogs. It has a large area inside of it  which is wide open for the dogs to run in/out through a dog door into a large, secure stockade fenced,  grassy yard.  NO CAGES! ! !  We have extensive photos of the kennel on my "kennel" page, check it out!

All of our dogs get 1 on 1 house time. They take turns, and  I always have atleast a couple of cockers in the house.  Pregnant/Nursing mothers stay in the house full-time. Our puppies are born and raised in our dining room, never in a kennel!  We have a seperate fenced area off of our dining room for the mama to take potty breaks and to house train the puppies.  Reminder, I have 3 children ranging in age from 5 - 17, and my puppies and dogs LOVE kids!

Our puppies are available as pets, to approved breeders or show homes, however please note, I will only send my puppies to life-long, loving, responsible homes.  I won't sell any of my puppies to brokers, pet stores, commerical breeders, or  breeders who I fear will keep them in crates or re-sell them later in life.   Some of the puppies we have sold have become American Champions, Canadian Champions, Canine Good Citizens and Certified Therapy dogs. Visit our brags page for some photos of champions we have bred or owned and finished.
